Our Mission
We have decided it is the right time to expand this successful trajectory with human patients into animal patients, without any compromise in
standards. Our mission is to provide a product and service offered at the same high caliber of care for animals as with humans-complete with
advancements in the ever-changing and evolving landscape of stem cell and regenerative therapies well into the future. We understand very well that
our small and large animals are well-revered-both personally as well as professionally-and in most cases, considered as part of the family. We
believe they should be afforded the same opportunity to live the best quality of life and be treated with no less than the highest standard of care.

Dr. Zahra Figueredo

Director of Advanced Regenerative Therapies at petXcure
She holds a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Nutritional Science from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada; a medical degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Ontario, Canada; and has had training in allopathic and Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in the United States, Canada, as well as in Europe.
Her eclectic training includes cosmetic and pathological dermatology, aesthetic medicine, and pharmaceutical compounding. Dr. Zahra is not only an outstanding scientist who translates basic research into clinical applications, but also a successful entrepreneur, instructor to various universities and medical schools, as well as has had numerous public speaking engagements.
Her years of extensive experience in Stem Cell Medicine come from being involved in the Research and Development (R and D) of the techniques successfully utilized not only here at SCHI, but also those used at various clinics throughout the world. Dr. Zahra is a member of an elite group trained, licensed, and certified by the International Consortium of Cell Therapy and Immunotherapy (ICCTI).
Dr. Jorge Melgar DVM
Chief Medical Officer at petXcure
His main areas of practice include reproductive medicine, focused on the health and reproductive care of pets; internal medicine, dedicated to the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of diseases; and exotic animal care, providing specialized attention for non-traditional species.
In addition, he perform general surgeries to treat injuries and illnesses, as well as aesthetic procedures aimed at improving both the quality of life and appearance of pets—always prioritizing their well-being.

Professional with extensive experience in the agricultural sector, specializing in general management, administration, and technical consulting. Holds a strong track record in business and project management, public policy development, and team coordination within both academic and governmental settings.
<brZAcademic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, a Master’s in Agricultural Business Administration from Universidad Rafael Landívar, and participation in the Senior Management Program (PAG) at INCAE.
